This is weird to write because I don’t really understand it or the implications yet, but I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
It’s been a weird 10 days that started with me experiencing some depth-perception issues, going to the urgent care, being sent to the ER, staying two nights in the hospital, meeting with various neurosurgeons/neurologists, being pumped up with steroids, going on vacation, and then getting the official diagnosis at a neurologist’s office. You can read the recap here.
Here’s what I do know:
- I have a neurology appointment in 6 weeks.
- I have another MRI scheduled in 8 weeks.
- I have to start taking medication for MS (more to come on that).
- I have to change my lifestyle. That means eating better and exercising more.
- I have to change my priorities. I’m pausing my woodworking side hustle for the foreseeable future so I have more time for adventure, my health, and my family.
Finally, I feel compelled to talk about and share this journey. I’m not sure what that means yet, but I’ve started this blog, and it could mean creating videos or podcasts. No matter what, I’ve got a lot to learn.
There’s more to come. Thanks for following along.
I’m keeping an MS timeline of everything that’s happened up until this point, if you care to follow along.
